Stockholm, my adopted city and hometown to my husband, Håkan and our son, Bevin, is a beautiful city. Its the capital city of Sweden and its been called the Venice of the North. Its a city built on 14 islands and where ever you are, you feel the presence of the water around you.

One of those islands is the one where we have lived since 1986. It's named Reimersholmen. Here is a picture of the channel that flows past our building. On the left, is one of the apartment buildings that belong to our Co-op. Behind the building, continues the channel that eventually leads to our 6 stories high building.

In the winter we are often surrounded by ice and can walk to the neighboring island.

A small 2 lane bridge connects us to another island, Södermalm which is the south island.

If you want more information about Stockholm here are some sites that you can go look at:

Skansen
Skansen is an open-air museum of buildings and workshops showing how people lived and worked long ago in different parts of Sweden. It also is a Zoo and is located on the island of Djurgården, a royal park near the centre of Stockholm.
